LOCKDOWN BLUES

Wind-blown trees are a-swaying,
So, it’s no time to go out straying.
But when all I do at home is stay,
Today will be just like yesterday.

Lonely here in my quiet cabin,
There is not even a dropped pin.
I can no longer be happy or sad,
Because I think I’m already mad!

Safety is merely a place to hide.
But it’s full of emptiness inside.
While others brave the storm,
I sit here cursing the new norm.
